Welcome to the official website for Driven, an independent documentary film by Element 8 Productions about the extreme world of marathon swimming. Marathon swimming is one of the world’s most extraordinary yet unheralded sports. This film strives to capture and depict the many remarkable aspects of the sport by chronicling the experiences of three individuals, each with their own goals and motivations in mind, as they test their mental and physical limits by attempting to swim across the Santa Barbara Channel.
-Update- February 9, 2013
Though some filming still needs to happen, this project has largely entered the post-production phase. We expect at this time to be deeply emerged in post-production projects into the summer. Due to the tremendous support of the swimmer community, friends, and family during our Indiegogo campaign, we feel as though we raised enough funding to carry-on and hopefully complete this project. In any case, additional contributions are still very welcome and needed as we must eventually address budget shortfalls. All funds contributed will still be directed entirely towards production expenses.
If you support this project, and would like to make a contribution, you can do so by using the PayPal button below. PayPal accepts credit cards. All rewards for various contribution levels offered during our Indiegogo campaign will still be honored. You can still view the various contribution levels and awards at: http://www.indiegogo.com/driventhemovie
